Work picked up his 13th win of the season, as No. 5 The Master's (Calif.) held off a late surge by No. 4 Northwood (Texas) to earn a 4-3 win in the second game of the 2013 Avista-NAIA Baseball World Series Friday afternoon at Harris Field.

No. 1 seed Concordia (Calif.) won the Concordia (Calif.) Bracket in Irvine to advance to the NAIA Softball National Championship Final Site, with a 9-0 shutout of College of Idaho last Wednesday. The Eagles, who have been ranked No. 1 in each of the past eight NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Polls, brings a 48-3 overall record to Columbus. The Eagles ride the arm of Katie Cotta. The senior tossed her NAIA-record 11th career no-hitter against the Coyotes. Concordia plays Saturday, May 25 at 4 p.m. PST in the second round against No. 8 Reinhardt (Ga.) which defeated No. 9 Saint Xavier (Ill.), 3-0 in the first round.

The GSAC All Sports Award presented by Duke's Restaurant in Huntington Beach has found a new home. Westmont College has reclaimed the trophy after the award has resided with Azusa Pacific over the last 18 years. The Warrios clinched the top spot in the standings with a pair of spring season championships (Women's Tennis and Men's Track and Field) along with a pair of second place finishes (Men's Tennis and Women's Track and Field). Westmont increased its scoring average from the winter season from 6.93 to 7.21.

Concordia University is proud to introduce Trisha Stafford-Odom as the ninth women's basketball coach in program history. Stafford-Odom will take the reins of the program immediately and her first season will be in 2013-14. She takes over an Eagles program that hasn't made the NAIA Tournament since 1997.

MOBILE, Ala. - No. 3 Vanguard faced a worthy, albeit understaffed, opponent in sixth-ranked Xavier (La.) (15-8) in the 2013 NAIA Men's Tennis National Championship quarterfinal on Thursday afternoon at the Mobile Tennis Center. The Lions bested the Gold Nuggets 5-2 despite dropping two doubles' points early. With the win, Vanguard adds another tally to its perfect 24-0 slate and maintains bragging rights as the nation's lone unbeaten team.
